history

SILLPARK Shopping Center
SILLPARK Shopping Center

The shopping center was planned by ATP architects engineers on the site of the former Rhomberg textile factory and opened in 1990. The shopping center was the largest building project in the city at the time.

It is right at the main train station . It derives its name from its surroundings, as the shopping center is adjacent to a park; it lies on the Sill , a river that supplies it with electricity from an in-house power plant. With this environmentally friendly form of energy generation, the center produces over 30 percent of the infrastructural electricity itself.

In 2007 the Sillpark was significantly enlarged by an extension. With over 70 shops and more than 700 employees today, it is one of the largest jobs in the region.

In 2012, the first Primark branch in Austria was opened in Sillpark Innsbruck.

In 2014/15 the shopping center was completely refurbished while operations continued.

The underground car park was modernized in 2019/20
