Christoph M. Achammer (2010)

Christoph M. Achammer (born February 21, 1957 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian architect and university professor at the Technical University of Vienna (TU Vienna).

Life

Christoph M. Achammer studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna. He completed his apprenticeship and traveling years at Hofman & Maculan in the Middle and Far East and at Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Chicago , USA .

Christoph M. Achammer has been a partner at ATP architects ingenieure (formerly ATP Achammer Tritthart und Partner) since 1989, member of the board since 1999 and chairman of the board of ATP Holding since 2006. In 2001, Christoph M. Achammer founded the Alpbach Architecture Talks as part of the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) in his role as ATP board member , which he designed until 2005. From 2006 to 2012 Christoph M. Achammer headed the Architecture Forum of the German Council of Shopping Centers (GCSC). Between 2009 and 2015 he was a member of the jury for the European Shopping Center Award of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). As a founding member of the IG Lifecycle Building Construction Committee, he headed the planning working group and, in 2013, was in charge of the development of guidelines for public and private clients. Christoph M. Achammer has been Honorary Chairman of the Executive Board of IG Lifecycle since 2017.

Teaching

Christoph M. Achammer has been a university professor at the Vienna University of Technology since 2002 and holds the chair for industrial construction and interdisciplinary construction planning at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Construction Process Management. The chair's BIM Lab is the driver of the development of building information management systems as a professional tool for future planning and construction processes 4.0. In his scientific work and lectures, he dedicates himself to aspects of integral planning with regard to sustainability and life cycle costs using the example of industrial construction. Since 2003, Christoph M. Achammer has been organizing the Vienna University of Technology's International Industrial Construction Seminar every two years, which is documented in book form.
