Silvana Jachino

Silvana Jachino (born February 2, 1916 in Milan , † August 28, 2004 in Morciano di Romagna , Province of Rimini ) was an Italian theater and film actress .

biography

The daughter of the composer and actor Carlo Jachino (1887–1971) was a popular actress in the 1930s and 1940s, mostly in light entertainment productions from the Telefoni Bianchi era of Italian film. In 1940 she was listed in the magazine "Cinema", directed by Vittorio Mussolini , at number 15 of the most popular actresses in Italy. The small, blonde actress played her first essential role in 1935 in L'aria del continente .

It remained successful until the war in 1943 brought the Italian film industry to a standstill. In 1947 she resumed her work, but had to be content with minor roles in genre films. She later switched to motherhood roles, including in her most famous film Julia and the Ghosts of Federico Fellini in 1965 . In 1970 she ended her career.

Silvana Jachino was married to Guido Cingoli. She died at the age of 88 in a clinic in Morciano di Romagna and was buried in Rome .
