Vittorio Mussolini

Vittorio Mussolini (born September 27, 1916 in Milan , † June 13, 1997 in Rome ) was the eldest son of Benito Mussolini and Rachele Guidi and an Italian film producer.

During the war in Ethiopia , Vittorio was deployed together with his brother Bruno under the command of Count Ciano in the "Disperata Squadron" and participated in several combat missions. He was also involved in fighting as an Air Force officer in the Spanish Civil War (from 1936).

From the 1940s, Vittorio worked as a filmmaker, screenwriter and producer under the pseudonym Tito Silvio Mursino. As early as 1937, Vittorio Mussolini went to Hollywood in the United States . Together with Federico Fellini , Roberto Rossellini and Luchino Visconti , he founded the salotto , a kind of salon for filmmakers . The last years of his life he lived in the family's country house, in Villa Carpena near Forlì .

He was also active as a racing driver. He competed in the Mille Miglia twice, in 1937 and 1938 . In 1937 he failed; In 1938 he finished 31st in the overall standings.
