Silvia Busuioc (born September 7, 1989 in Chișinău , Soviet Union ) is a Moldovan - Italian stage , television and film actress .

Life

Silvia Busuioc was born in Chișinău in 1989 and grew up there in the Republic of Moldova, which has been independent since 1991. Here she received dance lessons before she attended the International Cambridge School, where she studied business administration, economics, English and literature. After receiving her diploma (2007), she worked in two short films and also worked as a writer for one that was created as part of an information campaign on the subject of tuberculosis control. Then she settled in Italy.

She started studying at the University of Milan and appeared in various stage productions (for example at the Piccolo Teatro and as part of a collaboration with the Accademia dei filodrammatici, which is also based there). She was seen with leading roles in 2008 in Amletie , 2009 in DiVerso… Amore and 2012 in Gli incubi del geco . With the piece Animelle! Un euro al chilo , in which she played the main role of Lilia, she also toured Europe in 2011/12 and made a guest appearance in Canada . She then returned to the camera for productions for RAI, Channel 5 and Sky TV channels. In 2012 she accepted an offer from Martin Landau for further acting training at the Actors Studio in New York City .

Since then she has worked in Italian, English, Romanian and German-speaking roles in international film and television productions that received little attention in Germany. She got a continuous role in 2013 in the television series Fuoriclasse and in 2015 a leading role in the Romanian hit film Selfie 69 , where she played a role in her mother tongue again after a long time. Sporadic engagements took her to both Hollywood (guest role in the series Lethal Weapon ) and Great Britain (a supporting role alongside Michael Fassbender in the thriller Snowman and a leading role in the movie We Too ).

Busuioc has played leading roles in German-language productions since the mid-2010s. She was seen in the Swiss two-part TV series Gotthard in 2016 , in which she was cast as a girl disguised as a boy in order to take part in the construction of the eponymous tunnel towards the end of the 19th century. In 2019 she was seen as the southern Italian Giulietta Marconi, who fell in love with a German in the 1950s, in the German three-part TV series Bella Germania .
