Silvija Popović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Силвија Поповић ; born March 13, 1986 in Nikšić , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian volleyball player .

Career

Silvija Popović has played in the Serbian national team since 2007 . The Libera won the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Moreover Popović was 2018 world champion and 2011 and 2019 European champion .

Popović played from 2006 to 2009 at Poštar 064 Belgrade (three times Serbian champion and cup winner) and from 2009 to 2012 Rabita Baku (three times Azerbaijani champion and 2011 club world champion). After a baby break in 2012/13, she played at VBC Voléro Zurich (five times Swiss champions and cup winners) and in 2018/19 in Kazakhstan at Altay VC (Kazakh champions and cup winners). Popović has been active in Romania at CS Volei Alba-Blaj since 2019 .

Popović has received several individual awards at various international competitions (“Most Valuable Player”, “Best Libera”).

Private

Popović is married and has a son Strahinja since 2013.
