Simmern ( Luxembourgish Simmer , French Septfontaines ) is a place in the municipality of Habscht . Until December 31, 2017, it was an independent municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg that belongs to the canton of Capellen .

Archaeological finds
The area of today's village was inhabited in prehistoric times. The Roman finds include a larger grave field with over 200 cremation burials as well as a single body grave in which a cremation site has also been proven. Grave goods are above all vessels made of clay, more rarely also made of glass, coins , fibulae , and in a few cases also devices such as pens , knives or scissors.

- Simmern is in the valley of the Eisch .
- Septfontaines Castle is privately owned.
- At the entrance to the village from the direction of Leesbach is the picturesque goat bridge (Gessebréck) . In once the riding path of the lords of Ansembourg of simmering over Simmerschmelz led on to Ansembourg .
Merger with Hobscheid
In a referendum on May 25, 2014, 58.4% of the community's residents voted for a merger with the Hobscheid community . The residents of Hobscheid vote 59.73% for the merger. In 2018 the two communities merged to form "Gemeng Habscht".
