Jung ki-seok ( kor. 정기석 Jeong Gi-seok , born March 9, 1984 ), known by his stage name Simon Dominic , is a South Korean hip-hop artist. He made his debut in 2009 as a member of his then hip-hop duo "Supreme Team", which disbanded in 2013. As a solo artist, he released two studio albums called Simon Dominic Presents: SNL League Begins 2011 and Darkroom 2018. From 2014 to 2018, Simon Dominic was also co- CEO of the hip-hop label AOMG , where he still works as an artist Contract is.

Career

Simon Dominic started his career in the early 2000s as a K-Outa in the Korean underground hip-hop scene. He later changed his name, for which he combined "Simon" after Wesley Snipe's character in the movie Demolition Man and his christening name "Dominic". In 2009 he formed the hip-hop duo "Supreme Team" with E-Sens . This duo had a successful career and won several awards, including the "Best New Male Group Award" in 2009 at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the "Hip Hop Award" at the 2010 Golden Disc Awards .

In 2011, Simon Dominic released his first solo album Simon Dominic Presents: SNL League Begins . The album reached number 2 on the Gaon Charts .

The Supreme Team disbanded in 2013. Simon Dominic left the Amoeba Culture label in 2014 and became Co-CEO of Jay Park's independent music label AOMG .

In 2015, after a long hiatus, Simon Dominic made a comeback with the mini album Won & Only . However, his previously released single Simon Dominic was a resounding success and took first place in all Korean charts within three days .

In 2016, Simon D, as he is also known, took part in the Korean hip-hop music show Show Me The Money . There he was a juror as part of a producer team with AOMG colleague Gray , who helped rapper Bewhy to victory.

In 2018, Simon Dominic released his second album Darkroom . Shortly afterwards, he resigned from his position as co-CEO of the AOMG label, but he remains signed as a rapper.
