Simon Grothof
Simon Grothof (born July 5, 1891 in Pivitsheide ; † November 27, 1958 in Menden in Sauerland) was a German shoemaker and politician ( SPD ).
Life
After graduating from elementary school, Grothof did an apprenticeship as a shoemaker. From 1919 at the latest he was a master shoemaker in Pivitsheide. After 1945 he was a grocer in Lendringsen (Menden) . Grothof, who was initially a Protestant denomination and later left the church, was married.
During the Weimar Republic he was a leading functionary of the SPD in Pivitsheide. In the state elections in Lippe in 1921 and 1925 he was elected to the Lippe state parliament. At the end of the electoral term, he left the state parliament in 1929.
