Simon Hartogensis
Simon Hartogensis (born February 7, 1827 , † July 29, 1905 ) was an entrepreneur in Mannheim who was consul general of the Netherlands and Turkey .
Simon Hartogensis was a co-founder of Mannheimer Versicherungen and sat on the supervisory boards of Badische Bank , Rheinische Creditbank , Mannheimer Rückversicherung, Benz & Cie. Rheinische Gasmotorenfabrik, the Badische Anilin- & Soda-Fabrik and the Badische Zinkgesellschaft. Together with his friend Carl Reiss , he bought the Fasaneninsel (now Reissinsel ), a nature reserve in Mannheim. He established the Fridoline-Hartogensis-Foundation in memory of his wife Fridolina, geb. Mehler (1830-1896).
