Simon Fredrik Hedlund (born March 11, 1993 ) is a Swedish football player . The offensive player is under contract with the Danish super league club Brøndby IF and is a Swedish national player.
Career
societies
Simon Hedlund played in his youth for the Swedish clubs IFK Trollhättan and FC Trollhättan . In 2009 he moved to the junior division of the first division club IF Elfsborg . There he gained his first experience in Sweden's top division from the 2011/12 season and became Swedish champion at the end of the season . He also played with IF Elfsborg in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League . In total, he made 93 league games and 14 goals in the Swedish championship . There were also 37 more competitive appearances and ten goals in the Swedish Cup , the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League.
On August 29, 2016 Hedlund moved to Germany for the second division club 1. FC Union Berlin , with whom he signed a contract that will run until 2020.
After the striker lost his regular place in the second division season 2018/19 and remained goalless in eleven appearances, he switched to the Danish Super League for Brøndby IF during the winter break .
National team
Hedlund played in the Swedish U17, U19 and U21.
On January 9, 2020, at the age of 26, he played for the first time for the A-selection in a friendly against the Republic of Moldova (1-0).
