Simon Mason (Author)
Simon Mason (born February 5, 1962 in Sheffield , West Riding , Yorkshire , England ) is an English author of youth and adult literature.
Life
Mason studied English at Lady Margaret Hall , Oxford , England. In addition to his work as a writer, he is currently working partly as an editor at David Fickling Books , a subsidiary of Random House UK .
Mason's works have been published in England since 1990, some of which have won awards. His youth books about the Quigley family are also known in Germany .
Mason lives in Oxford with his wife and two children.
Prizes and awards
- 1991: Betty Trask Award in the category of first novel by an author under 35 for The Great English Nude .
- 2003: Shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award for The Quigleys .
- 2009: Children's Book of the Month March 2009.
- 2011: Shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Award for Moon Pie .
