Simon Moritz Bethmann

Simon Moritz Bethmann (* 1721 in Nassau ; † 1782 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German merchant and banker .

Life

Simon Moritz Bethmann was the youngest son of the Nassau bailiff of the same name, Simon Moritz Bethmann (1687–1725). He became a partner of his older brother Johann Philipp and together with him founded the later Bethmann-Bank in Frankfurt, which was born out of the inheritance of his maternal uncle Jakob Adami . In 1746 he received civil rights in the city where he stood out for his charity. Simon Moritz Bethmann died childless.
