Simon Moritz Bethmann (bailiff)

Simon Moritz Bethmann (born March 26, 1687 in Cramberg ; † June 6, 1725 in Bergnassau ) was a Nassau bailiff .

Life

Simon Moritz Bethmann was the son of Konrad Bethmann (1652–1701), mint master of the Princess of Nassau-Holzapfel , later of the Teutonic Order and the Elector of Mainz . The mother was Anna Elisabeth Baumann. In 1715 Bethmann married Elisabeth Thielen, the daughter of the host Thielen. The marriage resulted in three sons and a daughter.

Johann Philipp and Simon Moritz became the founders of Bethmann Bank .

From April 21, 1704, Bethmann attended the University of Gießen and from August 3, 1711 the University of Halle and studied law. From 1715 until his untimely death in 1725 he was bailiff in the Nassau-Idstein office of Nassau .
