Simon Nicholas Peter Hemans

Sir Simon Nicholas Peter Hemans CMG (1992), CVO (1983) (born September 19, 1940 ) is a former British diplomat .

Life

From 1966 to 1967 he was second class embassy secretary in Moscow. In 1968 he was employed in the FCO. In 1969 he was Deputy High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Anguilla , then in 1982 he was Deputy High Commissioner in Nairobi , Kenya . From 1989 to 1992 he headed the Soviet Union Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office . Subsequently, from 1992 to 1995, he was Ambassador to Kiev , Ukraine and from 1995 to 1997 High Commissioner in Nairobi, Kenya.
