Simon Trpčeski

Simon Trpčeski ( Macedonian Симон Трпчески ; born September 18, 1979 in Skopje , SR Macedonia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a North Macedonian classical pianist .

Trpčeski studied music at the University of Skopje with Boris Romanow . His pianist career began in 2000 when he was awarded second prize in the London International Piano Competition . However, he already attracted attention as a prizewinner of international piano competitions in Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Italy. In June 2001 Trpčeski performed at London's Wigmore Hall, which received excellent reviews. In May 2003 he received the Young Artist Award of the Royal Philharmonic Society . After his debut in Scotland in 2004 with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra , The Independent reported that Simon Trpčeski's concert tickets would be auctioned very soon.

He made his German debut in April 2005 with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin with Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major. Extensive concert tours also took the pianist to the USA, Australia, Asia and Europe in the 2004/05 season. Trpčeski has so far recorded two CDs for the EMI label with classics of Russian piano literature (including Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 8), the first of which won two Gramophone Awards in 2003 ( Editor's Choice and Debut Album Award ).

Simon Trpčeski lives in his hometown Skopje.
