Simon de la Vallée (* around 1600; † November 28, 1642 in Stockholm ) was a Franco-Swedish architect. He was the first trained architect in Sweden and is considered the founder of the architectural profession in Sweden.

Simon de la Vallée was born in France around 1600 as the son of the architect Marin de la Vallée . After study trips, etc. a. to Syria , Jerusalem and Persia , he worked first in Paris , then in Holland , and came to Sweden in 1637. As the first trained architect, he immediately received a number of orders, including for Tidö Castle and Hässelby Castle . He also planned numerous palaces in Stockholm.

In 1641 he was commissioned to plan the representative building of the Swedish nobility, the knight's house ( Riddarhuset ). Construction had just begun when Simon de la Valée was knocked down on November 20, 1642 by a town-famous bully, Colonel Erik Oxenstierna, and died eight days later from his injuries. But since Erik Oxenstierna belonged to the Swedish aristocracy, he got away with a fine instead of the death penalty with the help of his relatives, especially Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna .

Simon de la Vallée's projects were continued by his son, the architect Jean de la Vallée .
