On January 9, 2007, she fought in Bergamo against Nadia Hokmi from France for the vacant EBU flyweight championship. Since this fight was classified as a "draw" after 10 rounds, none of the fighters won this title. Simona Galassi won this title on May 11, 2007 in Bertinoro / Italy with a technical knockout victory in the 10th round over Bettina Völker from Germany.
On March 29, 2008 she was in her hometown Forli with a point win after 10 rounds over her compatriot Stefania Bianchini for the first time WBC world champion in flyweight. She defended this title several times in the following years. On March 11, 2011, however, she lost him in Polanco / Mexico by a point defeat against Mariana Juarez from Mexico.
On October 28, 2011 she won in Cagliari with a point victory after 10 rounds over Nadege Szikora from France the IBF world championship in super flyweight, which she successfully won on April 14, 2012 in Vicenza with a point victory over 10 rounds over Renata Szebeledi from Hungary defended. Against the same female boxer, however, she failed on October 27, 2012 in Padua while trying to win the WBC world flyweight title again.
But on June 15, 2013 in Bertinoro / Italy in the fight against Sanae Jah from Belgium, she won the vacant EBU European flyweight title by winning points. However, she failed on December 7, 2013 when she tried to become WBA flyweight world champion in Stuttgart in the fight against Susi Kentikian from Germany. She lost that fight over 10 rounds on points.
Simona Galassi last defended her EBU European flyweight title on August 8, 2014 in Ostia Lido near Rome by winning points over 10 rounds over Laetitia Arzalier from France.
As a professional boxer, Simona Galassi has fought 27 fights so far (as of December 31, 2014), of which she won 23 and lost 3, and once she fought a draw. Only she knows how long her extraordinarily successful career will last.
