Simone Vergassola (born January 24, 1976 in La Spezia ) is a former Italian football player who played mainly for the Italian club AC Siena .

Career

Vergassola learned to play football with Sarzanese, a club from the province of La Spezia . In 1992 he moved to Carrarese Calcio , for which he played in the C1 series . In 1996 Vergassola went to Liguria to Sampdoria Genoa . There he made his Serie A debut on March 9, 1997 in the match Atalanta Bergamo -Sampdoria Genoa (4-0).

The Torino 2003 rose to the Serie B , and Vergassola left the club during the season towards Tuscany and signed in Siena.

Since 2004 Simone Vergassola played for AC Siena, which established itself with him in the top division. After the 2009/10 season , however, he rose to Serie B with the Tuscans. In April 2011 Vergassola extended his contract, which expired at the end of the season, until the end of the 2012/13 season. After AC Siena went bankrupt after the 2013/14 season, Vergassola went to Serie D with the new team Robur Siena , where at the end of the season they were promoted and won the national amateur championship (Poule Scudetto, Campione d'Italia di Serie D) could be. At the end of the 2014/15 season, he announced his retirement from football after 390 games and 28 goals in Serie A.
