Simone Westerfeld

Simone Westerfeld (* 1975 ) is a German - Swiss bank manager and professor for banking and finance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). She was interim managing director ( CEO ) and group manager of Basler Kantonalbank .

Origin and career

Westerfeld entered the banking business in 1994 with an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank , where she worked as a customer advisor and analyst. She completed her studies in 1996 at the HSG in St. Gallen and at the School of Economics in Stockholm . During her studies, Westerfeld worked for Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in New York and Credit Suisse before graduating in 2000. In the same year she moved to UBS . At the same time she was promoted to director at UBS, she received her doctorate from the HSG.

From 2006 she was an assistant professor. Westerfeld completed her habilitation thesis in 2010 at the age of 35. She then taught as a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). Simone Westerfeld has been a member of the management and group management of Basler Kantonalbank and adjunct professor at the HSG since 2015 .
