Simone van der Vlugt (* 15. December 1966 in Hoorn ) is a Dutch youth - and adult book author .

Life

Van der Vlugt writes historical novels for young people in Dutch , but they are also internationally known. She studied Dutch and Romance languages and initially worked as a teacher . In 1995 her first book for young people was published. She is now one of the most important Dutch authors of historical novels.

In 2004 she presented her first psychological suspense novel, De reünie , which appeared in 2009 under the German title Klassentreffen and with which she conquered not only the Dutch but also the German bestseller lists. Since then she has released six other thrillers .

Simone van der Vlugt lives in Alkmaar with her husband and two children .
