The Simpson Nunatak is a 1165 m (according to the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee 650 m ) high nunatak in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises on the southern edge of the Aitkenhead Glacier on the Trinity Peninsula .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 after Hugh Walter Simpson (* 1931) of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey , who was involved in exploring the Detroit Plateau in 1957 from the station on Hope Bay .
