The Simpson Ground Reservoir is a reservoir in the Lake District , Cumbria , England .
The Simpson Ground Reservoir is east of Staveley-in-Cartmel and east of the southern end of Windermere . The lake has no recognizable tributary. The Way Beck forms its drain on the northeast side.
The lake was built in 1957 as an additional water supply for Grange-over-Sands and Barrow-in-Furness .
