Simultan is a German rock band from Auerbach .
history
founding
Simultan was created in August 1971 through the merger of former musicians from Orgaphonics and the Günter Fischer Quintet in Auerbach. Shortly after it was founded, the band received the title of “Excellent Dance Orchestra of the GDR”. They made numerous recordings on radio in the GDR . In the GDR record label Amiga , several Simultan records were released as singles or on samplers.
The founding members included Günter Fischer (not to be confused with the musician Günther Fischer ), Jörg Seckel, Karl-Heinz Gerisch, Michael Schäffer and Hans Jürgen Hillert. The compositions of the band came from Fischer, Seckel and Gerisch. The lyrics were written by the poet Dietmar Lange. In 1990 the band broke up.
Years after the fall of the Wall
In the years after the fall of the Wall , Günter Fischer and daughter Silke performed in Germany and worked as a composer and producer with other artists. Günter Fischer's titles can be found on around 50 sampler CDs. In 2007 a 4-CD box with 80 of the most successful titles was released.
From 2009 on
On the occasion of Günter Fischer's 50th stage anniversary, the Simultan group formed again and performed for the first time on March 7, 2009 in Wernesgrün. Then the tour Simultan is back was organized and implemented. The Simultan group now consisted of the members Günter Fischer, Silke Fischer, Sebastian Fischer, Günter Geipel and Christoph Gilbert.
After the comeback tour, the band released a single in 2010 and a Christmas album in 2011. In 2014, after a farewell concert and the album Momente , Günter Fischer left the band, which is being continued by his son Sebastian. Günter Fischer died on October 9, 2018.
