Sin Fang (Bous) is a solo project by the independent musician Sindri Már Sigfússon from Reykjavík , Iceland . He is also the founder of the Seabear group .

history

Sindri Már Sigfússon founded Seabear in the early 2000s, initially as a solo project. Soon more band members were added and Seabear developed into a band project. In 2008 he founded another solo project with Sin Fang Bous and has been writing songs for both projects since then. In the same year he released his first single, Advent In Ives Garden , on the German label Morr Music . His debut album Clangour followed in spring 2009 and received good reviews. In the summer of 2009 Sigfússon went on a tour of Germany as Sin Fang Bous with Borko and It's a Musical , which led to Munich, Wiesbaden and Berlin. In 2010 Sigfússon released the single Landslide for the first time as Sin Fang without Bous . In 2011 the single Because Of The Blood and the album Summer Echoes were released , which was again positively received. In autumn 2011 Sin Fang toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Most of his appearances were supported by the solo artist Sóley , who is also his band colleague at Seabear.

style

Sin Fang is influenced by various artists and bands such as Nick Drake and Elliott Smith . The music style is reminiscent of rock bands such as Deerhoof , Sufjan Stevens or Dungen . Sigfússon combines pop and modern indie rock with traditional Icelandic folk elements in his music from the 1960s. While his band project Seabear orients himself towards indiefolk, Sigfússon shows himself to be more willing to experiment in his solo project.
