Band history

In 2006 Ella Blixt went on a one-week tour through southern Germany and was accompanied by Robert Kretzschmar's duo Lady Boy in the opening act. Due to a similar conception of good music, the two decided to compose and record songs together. After Blixt moved from Malmö to Berlin , they started their music project and called it It's a Musical . In this formation Robert Kretzschmar played drums and vibraphone and also sang. Ella Blixt played the organ, piano, keyboard and also sang.

In spring 2007, they took the demo EP The Music Makes Me Sick , whereby the Independent - record label Morr Music became aware of the duo and took the two for an album under contract. Blixt and Kretzschmar wrote all the songs together. In October 2008 the album was released and was also called The Music Makes Me Sick . In the summer of 2009 It's a Musical went on tour in Germany with Sin Fang Bous and Borko , which took them to Munich, Wiesbaden and Berlin. It's a Musical has not been released for four years. It was not until 2012 that the duo's long player For Years and Years appeared again. In 2013 they released the EP Summer Break and were on tour as support for the German band Tocotronic .
