Singer Island

Singer Island is an island on the Atlantic coast of Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida .

The island was named after Paris Singer , a son of Isaac Merritt Singer , who was best known for his sewing machines and as the founder of the Singer family business .

Singer is said to have wanted to give the island to one of his lovers, who did not like the gift. The island is populated by numerous residential complexes with condominiums; the living environment is considered upscale and expensive. However, the coast is threatened by tropical cyclones , which have already devastated some of these facilities.

Well-known personalities, such as u. a. the professional golfer Michelle McGann live on the island. In particular, Clarence Clemons from the E Street Band stayed on the island for a long time.
