Sinosaurus ("Chinese lizard") is a genus of theropod dinosaur from the Lower Jurassic of the People's Republic of China . However, the genus has been regarded as the noun dubium since 2004, since the underlying holotype "IVPP V 34", an upper jaw fragment , does not provide sufficient phylogenetic information for the establishment of a taxon .

Sinosaurus probably reached a length of 2.4 meters. C. C. Young (actually Yang Zhongjian ) wrote the first scientific description in 1948.
