Siobhan McMahon

Siobhan McMahon (born July 4, 1984 in Bellshill ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party .

Life

McMahon attended Glasgow Caledonian University and received a bachelor's degree in politics, history and sociology. She subsequently worked for her father, MP Michael McMahon , and Scottish Secretary Jim Murphy.

Political career

McMahon ran in the 2011 Scottish General Election as a candidate on the Labor Party's regional electoral list for the Central Scotland electoral region . On the basis of the election result, she was one of three Labor politicians to enter the Scottish Parliament for Central Scotland. Since she herself suffers from blindness and spastic paralysis , in addition to the subject of international relations , she deals with the areas of disability and care in Parliament . With Michael and Siobhan McMahon, father and daughter sat for the first time as members of the Scottish Parliament. At the end of the electoral term, she left parliament.
