The Sita Chuchura is a 6611 m high peak in the Dhaulagiri Himal , a mountain range of the Himalayas in Nepal .
The Sita Chuchura is located 9.5 kilometers north of the eight-thousand-meter Dhaulagiri I . The upper section of the Chonbardan Glacier runs in between . The Sita Chuchura west rises the 5360 m high altitude French Col . In the northeast is the Hidden Valley . To the west, a ridge leads to Dhaulagiri II . To the north, a mountain ridge connects the Sita Chuchura with the Mukut Himal .
The first ascent was achieved by a Japanese expedition in 1970. On October 26, the expedition members Masahiko Takahashi, Nobuyuki Hirato, Hiroshi Harada and Phurba Kitar climbed the summit. The ascent route led from the French Col to the summit. Three more ascents of Sita Chuchura followed by 1995.
