Sitkwin ( Burmese စစ် ကွင်း , BGN / PCGN : sitkwin) is a small town in Burma , Minhla County , Thayawady District .
Important events
On February 7, 1998, Bertrand Piccard and crew landed the Breitling Orbiter balloon. The military fired at the balloon to expedite the evacuation. On June 23, 2002, 4,254 people from Sitkwin and the surrounding area were forced to a mass rally to demonstrate against the National League for Democracy (NLD) chaired by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi .
