The Sixmile Lake is a lake in the southwest of the US state of Alaska .
Sixmile Lake is located west of the northern Aleutian chain at an altitude of 77 m . The 12 km² large and 9 km long lake is fed by a 900 m long drain from Lake Clark to the north . Another tributary is the Tazimina River . The maximum 2.4 km wide body of water is drained at the southern end of the Newhalen River south to Iliamna Lake . On the west bank is the village of Nondalton . The east bank is part of Lake Clark National Preserve . The lake is crossed by numerous salmon on their way to their spawning grounds in summer .
