The Tazimina River is a river in southwest Alaska .
The Tazimina River has its source in the Chigmit Mountains in the north of the Aleutian chain . It is fed by a smaller glacier. The Tazimina River initially flows in a westerly and later in a west-southwest direction from the mountains. It flows through the two elongated lakes Upper Tazimina Lake and Lower Tazimina Lake . For the lower 15 km the river turns northwest and joins the Sixmile River . The Tazimina River and its drainage basin are located in Lake Clark National Preserve . Between June and August, when the snow and glacier melt, the river carries the largest amounts of water.
