The Sixways Stadium is a stadium in the English city of Worcester . It is the home ground of the Worcester Warriors rugby union club and can seat 13,200 spectators.
The stadium opened in 1975. It got its name because it is located on the eastern outskirts of the city at the intersection of six roads, including the M5 motorway . In September 2006, Wychavon district government approved an investment program worth £ 23 million. It included the expansion of the stadium from 12,000 to 13,200 seats, the construction of a health center with swimming pool, a park-and-ride and new training grounds. Work began in May 2007 and was completed by the beginning of the 2007/08 season.
