Sjaak Pieters
Klaas Pieter "Sjaak" Pieters (born July 22, 1957 in Zwanenburg ) is a former Dutch track cyclist and today's cycling official.
Sjaak Pieters was a specialist for the short-term disciplines on the track, and especially for tandem races . In this discipline he was six times Dutch champion between 1977 and 1987, three times with Ton Vrolijk , twice with Lau Veldt and once with Ab Harren . In 1978 he also won the national title in the 1000-meter time trial . Twice - in 1978 (with Veldt) and 1982 (with Vrolijk) - he was third in the UCI track world championships on the tandem. In 1976 he started at the Olympic Games in Montreal in the sprint , but was eliminated in the round of 16.
Pieters comes from a family of athletes: his wife is a two-time Olympic participant and gymnast Ans Dekker , his brother Peter Pieters was also a cyclist.
In 2011, Pieters was the head of the Dutch cycling team Rucanor Line Cycling .
