Skálatoftir [ ˈskɔalaˌtɔftɪr ] (Danish Skåletofte ) is a deserted place in the Faroe Islands on the west coast of the north island of Borðoy .

The place is located in the north of the island Borðoy opposite the also deserted Skarð on the other side of the Haraldssund strait . Skálatoftir was abandoned in 1914 .

Even today a hiking trail leads along the shore to the old district. It begins north of the power station, in the also abandoned town of Strond on the dam that leads north from Ánir to Kunoy. The route is easy to walk and is known for its abundance of birds. From Skálatoftir you have a good view of Cape Kunoyarnakkur .
