The Haraldssund (Danish name Haraldsund ) is a strait in the Faroe Islands between the islands of Kunoy in the west and Borðoy in the east.

In the north the strait flows into the open North Atlantic and in the south into the natural northern port of Klaksvík ( Pollur ). The Leirvíksfjørður in the west forms the exit to the south.

The village of the same name Haraldssund on Kunoy is located on Haraldssund . The sound to Ánir on Borðoy is crossed by a road embankment , so that today, strictly speaking, it consists of two inlets.

In the north of Haraldsund there are two abandoned places: Skarð on Kunoy and Skálatoftir on Borðoy just opposite. Old hiking trails that lead along the respective banks go to both places.
