The Leirvíksfjørður [ ˈlɔɹvʊiksˌfjøːɹʊɹ ] ( Danish Lervig Fjord ) is a strait in the Faroe Islands between the islands of Eysturoy in the west and Borðoy in the east and Kalsoy in the north.

In the northwest, the strait at Fuglafjørður flows into the wide Djúpini strait between Eysturoy and Borðoy, in the northeast into the Kalsoyarfjørður and in the south into the open North Atlantic .

At Leirvíksfjørður lies the small town of Leirvík , after which it is named, and the abandoned village of Blankskáli on Kalsoy.

A ferry from Strandfaraskip Landsins traveled the strait from Leirvík to Klaksvík . Due to the very high traffic volume of this only connection from the mainland to the North Islands , the 6 km long North Island Tunnel was opened in 2006 , which crosses the Leirvíksfjørður under the sea.
