The Skálholtsvegur is a main road in the south of Iceland .

The road 31 extends between the Skeiðavegur S30 , bridges the Hvítá at Laugarás and leads to Biskupstungnabraut S35 . Contrary to what the name suggests, Skálholt is not on the road, but can be reached via a local access road. The Skálholtsvegur has a length of 15 km and is paved along its entire length. The Iðubrú over the Hvítá was built in 1957 as a single-lane suspension bridge. It is 107 m long, replaced a ferry and is named after the farm Iða, which lies south.
