The Skarshaugane (Norwegian for Schartenhöhen ) are a group of mountains in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains of the Wohlthat massif , the mountains from the Hovdeskar extend over 5 km in a southerly direction.
The mountains were discovered and photographed from the air during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
