The Hovdeskar ( Norwegian for hill Charter is) a notch in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains of the Wohlthat massif, it is located immediately east of the Skarshovden at the head of the Skarsbrotet .
It was discovered and photographed from the air during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
