Skarsbrotet (Norwegian for Broken saddle is) a cirque glacier in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains of the Wohlthatmassiv, it drains the eastern slopes of the Skarshaugane .
He was discovered and photographed from the air during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named the glacier, mapped it using surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
