The Skilton Ledge is a relatively flat and rectangular plateau in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is 2070 m high on the southeastern edge of the Midnight Plateau in the Darwin Mountains of the Transantarctic Mountains . Apart from a rock cliff at the southern end, it is covered in ice.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2001 after the radio operator Larry F. Skilton from South Windsor , Connecticut , who from 1990 to 2001 had radio links between Palmer Station , McMurdo Station , Byrd Station and, in particular, the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station with the home countries of the scientists working on these research bases.
