Skuhrov (German Rathsdorf , also Rohtstoff , de Fresch and 1292 Schurowa ) is a district of the town of Česká Třebová in Pardubický kraj ( Czech Republic ) northwest of the town of Lanškroun .
history
The village was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1292 in an equipment document from the Cistercian monastery Königsaal as "Schurowa". The place already had a church in the 13th century. It was not until 1740 that the baroque church of St. John of Nepomuk erected. After bad harvests and drought (1842–1845), cholera (1855) and the removal of the last feudal structures (1848), many Skuhrover citizens emigrated to Waterloo or Watertown in Wisconsin , USA, such as the in the 50s and 60s of the 19th century Families Hampel, Langer, Honl, Zimprich, Jirschele and Arnold. During the German War of 1866, 11,000 Austrians and then 8,000 Prussians camped in Skuhrov in 1866 and caused considerable damage. Between 1938 and 1945 Rathsdorf belonged to the German district of Landskron . In 2001 the village consisted of 88 houses in which 197 people lived.
