Johannisberg Sculpture Park
The Johannisberg Sculpture Park is a sculpture path (the term " Sculpture Park " is still used) between the Von der Heydt Museum and the Johannisberg Street in Wuppertal .
description
The idea of a sculpture park was developed in 1997 in cooperation with the Stadtsparkasse Wuppertal and the Von der Heydt Museum. A route from the Von der Heydt-Museum am Wall over the Isländer Brücke , over the Südstrasse at the entrance of the new administration building of the Stadtsparkasse and past the Wilhelm-Dörpfeld-Gymnasium to the historic town hall on the Johannisberg was conceived.
The city hall garden and the forecourt of the swimming opera are also part of the sculpture path. Several existing sculptures from the property of the Stadtsparkasse were integrated into the sculpture path. At the beginning of 1998 a leaflet at the Johannisberg Sculpture Park was presented, which was published by the Stadtsparkasse.

Further sculptures for the sculpture trail were acquired through the mediation of the museum. The financial resources were collected from citizens, companies, associations and foundations. Among the four acquisitions are:

- Elastic - Schwebend (2001) by Claus Bury , donated in 2004 by Barmenia Krankenversicherung a. G.
