Slavcho Transki

Slavcho Transki , actually Slavcho Stoimenow Sawow , ( Bulgarian Славчо Трънски ; born October 22, 1914 in Bochowa , † October 17, 1999 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian politician.

Life

Transki joined the Bulgarian Communist Party in 1938 . During the Second World War , he was in command of the 1st Sofia Partisan Brigade , the 1st Insurgent Operational Zone and the 1st Partisan Division. He graduated from the Frunze Military Academy in Moscow . From 1951 to 1962, Transki headed the GS Rakovsky Military Academy . In 1962 he became a member of his party's Central Committee and Deputy Bulgarian Minister for People's Defense. From 1962 to 1968 he was also chief of the Bulgarian air force and air defense.

Transki was awarded the Hero of the People's Republic of Bulgaria and the Order of Georgi Dimitrov .
