The Main type is a series cargo ship type produced by the Slovenské Lodenice shipyard in Komárno .

details

The river coasters of the Main type are designed as multi-purpose dry cargo ships with a deckhouse far aft , a long middle and a shorter forward cargo hold . The retractable bridge above the engine room can be lowered to the level of the rest of the deckhouse. The ice-reinforced hulls were assembled in a sectional construction. The ships have a stern that is vertical up to the waterline and slightly overhanging without a bulbous bow .

The type has two box-shaped holds with a total volume of 4171 m 3 , which are closed by electro-hydraulic folding hatch covers and in which two movable bulkheads can be inserted. The front cargo area is 25.20 meters, the rear 31.75 meters long and both cargo areas are each 10.10 meters wide and 7.26 meters high. The tank cover , which can be loaded with up to 15 t / m², is reinforced for cargo handling with grabs and the transport of heavy goods . A total of 108 20-foot containers ( TEU ) can be transported, 72 TEU in the hold and a further 36 TEU on the hatch covers.

The ships of the series are powered by a Wärtsilä six-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine of the type 6L20 with an output of around 1200 kW, which acts on a variable-pitch propeller and a shaft generator via a reduction gear . Auxiliary and emergency diesel engines are also available. The berthing and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster .

The units of the Main series are mainly used in small and medium-sized journeys in the transport of bulk goods, piece goods, smaller project loads or containers .
