The Slovensko Planinsko Društvo Celovec ( abbreviation SPD Celovec ; German  Slovenian Alpine Association Klagenfurt ) sees itself as an Alpine Association of the Carinthian Slovenes with full reciprocity vis-à-vis the other Alpine associations. As a legally independent association , it is a section in the Slovenian Alpine Association (PZS) and a member of the Association of Austrian Alpine Associations (VAVÖ).

The association was founded in its current form in 1953 with its headquarters in Klagenfurt . One of its predecessor organizations, the Gailtal section of the Slovenian Alpine Club based in Feistritz an der Gail , was founded in 1900.

As of December 31, 2004 the association had 371 members. He owns a refuge with 15 beds (“ Hut above the Arichwand ” - “Koča nad Arihovo pečjo”), which was built in 1969 on the Rossalm (Bleščeča) at an altitude of 1080  m above sea level. A. was established.

Every year the SPD Celovec organizes a hike in memory of the resistance fighters who died in southern Carinthia in the fight against National Socialism.
