The smarticular Verlag is a German online and nonfiction publisher with a focus on sustainability simpler in everyday life and one conscious lifestyle. The seat is in Berlin.

concept

With its publications, the publisher wants to support social change away from mass consumption and a throwaway society and promote conscious consumption with consideration for the environment and sustainable use of resources. As a source of inspiration and a source of inspiration, the publisher would like to encourage people to actively shape change themselves ( self-empowerment ).

history

Founded in Berlin in 2014, the publisher initially focused on building up the ideas portal smarticular.net. The focus is on instructions for a sustainable lifestyle. This includes recipes for home-made household and care products, alternatives to ready-made products, ways of avoiding waste , ideas for upcycling , recipes for wild herbs and wild fruits as well as vegan recipes. The eponymous artificial word smarticular is made up of the English terms smart and particular .

Since 2015, the publisher also operates the wild plants portal kostbarenatur.net and since 2018 zerowastemap.org the directory for sustainable consumption, on which, among other Unpacked stores , gratis shops , Repair cafes and books boxes are listed.

In the summer of 2016, the first guidebook Five home remedies to replace a drugstore was published with more than 300 applications and recipes for home remedies such as baking soda , soda , vinegar , citric acid and curd soap . Meanwhile (as of 06/2020) the publishing program includes ten guides as well as the annual planner and seasonal sustainability guide Grüner Faden .
