The Smithy Beck is a river in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The Smithy Beck arises south of the Starling Dodd in the Ennerdale Forest, it initially flows in a westerly direction, but turns south for its confluence with the Ennerdale Water .
The Smithy Beck has two small tributaries from the south flank of the Starling Dodd, the Starling Gill and the Clewes Gill .
